Shooting is one of the few sports that the British are world leaders in. The Great Britain Target Rifle Team are the current World Long Range Team Champions, having won the World Long Range Palma Team Match in 2003 from South Africa. This competition is only held every 4 years, but underlines the competitive environment that will surround this tour.
We are offering a totally unique opportunity to spend a day with the team, at Bisley range, learning how to shoot target rifles, historic pistols and shotgun. It does not matter if you are a complete novice; with tuition from the team by the end of the day you are sure to have all your shots on target. The more experienced among guests will of course benefit from the personal tuition of the people who are the top shots in the world.
Bisley, the National Shooting Centre, has one of the best sporting clay target ranges in the country. The delightful setting of the camp in Surrey is also home to the Commonwealth Games formal clay disciplines, with a Skeet and Down the Line range built for the games in 2002. It is also of course the Mecca of Full-bore target rifle shooting throughout the world with its rifle ranges that can accommodate shooting at 1200yards.
The full day includes coffee, croissants and Danish on arrival, tuition from team GB throughout the day on the target rifle, historic pistol and shotgun ranges. Lunch and afternoon tea with the prize giving ceremony complete the day in the Clubhouse. For obvious reasons alcohol is not permitted during the day, but after tea the Clubhouse bar will be open until 6pm.Shooting is one of the few sports that the British are world leaders in.
